How to convert a video to MP3 on iPhone
Use this workflow when you need the sound from a video as a separate file: a voice clip, an interview excerpt or a recording for a compatible audio player. You need a video with an audio track that iOS can decode.
Quick start
- Import the video from Photos or Files. Choose a source file you are allowed to edit.
- In Range, set the start and end of the section you want to keep. Play it back to check the boundaries.
- In Export, select audio output and MP3. Choose CBR for predictable bitrate or VBR when you want the bitrate to vary with the sound.
- Set the sample rate and channels as needed. Stereo retains the two channels; mono combines them. A higher bitrate cannot restore detail missing from the source.
- Choose a filename, export, then preview or share the MP3 and save it to Files.
Does video-to-MP3 conversion upload my recording?
MediaForge processes the selected file on your device. It does not upload your media to our servers.
Why is audio output unavailable?
A silent video has no audio track to extract. The app also relies on the device's supported input containers and decoders.
How can I reduce the MP3 file size?
Trim unused sections and lower the bitrate when the resulting sound is acceptable. Check a short export before converting a long recording.
