Turn a short video into a GIF on iPhone
A GIF is useful for a short looping demonstration or reaction. This guide describes the tools planned for MediaForge 1.1.0. GIFs have no audio, and long or large animations can quickly become bulky.
Available now: 1.0 · Image, GIF and tracking tools are planned for 1.1.0.
Quick start
- Import one video. In the shared Export panel, select GIF.
- Choose a short range. In the GIF export settings, adjust frame rate, speed and forward, reverse or ping-pong playback.
- In Picture, crop the image or adjust color. Add a watermark or annotation if needed.
- In Export, choose GIF. Set the longest edge and frame rate to balance clarity, motion and file size. Start with a small preview.
- Export and check the loop. GIF intervals are at least 20 ms. Visual output is limited to 30 seconds, 300 frames and the app's total pixel budget; reduce the plan if prompted.
Can I convert a GIF back into a video?
Yes. Import the GIF and choose Video in Export to produce silent H.264 MP4.
Why does the GIF have no sound?
GIF has no audio track. Choose Video when exporting an annotated source video to keep its audio.
Can I animate several still images?
Yes. Select up to 30 still images in order, then set timing and export an animation. Mixed batches of images and video are not supported.
