Summary

HanziGlow is an offline-first Chinese writing app. It does not require an account, display advertising, sell personal information, or use remote behavior analytics or cross-app tracking.

Data stored on your device

The app may store handwriting points, brush choices, practice progress, favorites, settings, locally generated feedback, personal passages, and purchase-entitlement cache data. This information supports replay, overlays, progress, restoration after interruption, and offline use.

Personal passages imported from the clipboard or a text file are saved only when you choose Save. Clipboard content used only as temporary writing context is not persisted as a passage.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions, free-trial eligibility, payment details, refunds, and purchase history. HanziGlow receives StoreKit product information and verified entitlement status needed to unlock features. The app does not receive your full payment-card details or Apple Account password.

Device features

Finger and Apple Pencil input is processed for writing. Bundled audio and the device's Mandarin voice may be used for pronunciation. HanziGlow does not record microphone audio. Choosing import or export opens the system document picker, and the app accesses only the file you select.

Sharing and transfers

HanziGlow does not transmit handwriting history, personal passages, or learning progress to an operator server. Data leaves the app only when you deliberately export, copy, or share it through system controls. Apple may process purchase information under Apple's own privacy policy.

Children

The app is designed to work without collecting names, email addresses, precise location, advertising identifiers, or account profiles from children or adults. A parent gate protects purchase execution.

Your controls

Use Settings, then Data and Privacy to copy an export or delete local user data. Deleting the app also removes its local data, subject to device backups managed by the operating system. Subscription records remain with Apple and can be managed in Apple Account settings.
