Help & Support
Start recording
Open Camera and grant camera access. Turn automatic recording on or off in Settings. Recording stops when you lock the device or leave the app. Use a supported format and ensure that storage is available.
Keep a highlight
Tap Highlight to raise the bitrate of subsequent footage and mark the moment; tap again to finish. Enable HD look-back before filming to include available recent footage. Look-back consumes additional power and its available duration appears in the viewfinder.
Import photos or videos
In Library, choose Import and then photos, videos or Files. Select your items and confirm. If an item is in iCloud, allow time and a working connection to retrieve the original. Photos and videos are handled separately; an ordinary video cannot restore photo originals that were never included.
Restore photos from a video
Import the original ForeTake export. Its included original photos, highlights and capture information can be restored. Avoid edited, trimmed or transcoded copies, which may lose recovery data. Embedded photos do not appear as individual items in Photos; enable separate saving if you want that.
Check Photos and free local storage
Open the Library’s Photos management tools to check linked copies, save takes or verify originals. Limited permission may prevent verification; choose the relevant items or adjust permission. Local release requires a successful read and verification of the saved original. Keep the original video safe.
Understand camera trails
Use the thumbnail timeline to seek across media, direction and position views. Orange dashed paths are motion estimates with drift; teal paths use optional visual-inertial tracking. Neither is a surveying or navigation tool. GPS, motion sensors and visual conditions affect availability and accuracy.
Heat, battery and interruptions
Long takes, 4K, high frame rates, HD look-back and visual tracking increase processing demand. Lower the capture format, disable look-back or visual tracking, or allow the device to cool. Supported options depend on your camera. Essential save errors remain visible.
Contact support
Email [email protected] with your device model, iOS version, ForeTake version from Settings and a short description of what happened. Include the steps you took and any visible error. Share private media only if needed; do not send passwords or authentication codes.
